NotOut.org is not just another employment website. First, we list verified and un-verified jobs. To obtain verified status, we ask employers to specify their normal application practices with regard to driving history, criminal background checks, drug tests, credit checks and more. Job Seekers can answer related questions and search jobs that match their status. Our goal is to maximize efficiency for job seekers across the country.
Who are Real People? We consider Real People anyone looking for work. Sometimes Real People have had some issues in their past. Real People make mistakes. Who hasn’t? However, certain mistakes send people into an endless spiral of low wages and lack of opportunity, which can, all too often, lead them to make more mistakes. When people are ready to make changes in their lives we think they should have a place to turn.
The overall employment situation in the US is a highly prevalent issue right now. The national unemployment rate is higher than it’s been in 26 years. The US justice system has been a controversial issue since the constitution was ratified. We felt a national dialog was in order, so we provided a forum to do so. We look forward to reading many various opinions on these topics and hope those who have triumphed can inspire those still working their way through.
